Digitizer Option

The UHFQA-DIG Digitizer is an option for the UHFQA Quantum Analyzer that extends the capability of the standard oscilloscope with digitizer features.

With its 12-bit physical resolution and 1.8 GSa/s sampling rate, the UHFQA-DIG is comparable to commercial standalone dual-channel, high-resolution digitizers. It enables simultaneous visualization of time-domain (digitizer) and frequency-domain (lock-in) traces in the same window. As the response of the analog input is flat at 600 MHz, sampling inside the Nyquist zone can take place at even higher frequency. The sample transfer rate of 7 MSa/s to the host computer ensures smooth transfer of large numbers of shots or long-time continuous digitizing at a reduced sample rate. Further, the option is fully integrated into the LabOne user interface.

Benefit from speed

A high-performance segmented memory manager supports the acquisition of up to 32'768 single shots per second. A short dead time between acquisition and readiness for the next trigger reduces the likelihood of missing infrequent events. With its configurable memory depth of up to 128 MSa per channel, the UHFQA-DIG provides enough headroom to capture a sufficient number of waveforms for many applications.

Benefit from performance

The analog front end enables switching between 2 different input impedances, AC/DC coupling and, most important, between one of 32 input ranges for fine adjustment against the signal of interest. The input range amplifier with integrated shot averaging outperforms most digitizer cards that also need to deal with heavy digital noise coming from the computer.

The result of an FFT calculated over 128 million samples results in a high-resolution spectrum up to a bandwidth of 900 MHz. The practical resolution can thus be lower than 1 Hz for an appropriate sampling rate and depth, if calculated on an adequate computer.
